Tool Steel Casting

Tool Steel Investment Casting

Tool steel is utilized in investment castings that require high-temperature environments otherwise not considered corrosive. This is because tool steel alloys contain molybdenum to increase the alloy’s melting point, but not enough chromium to be considered a corrosion resistant steel.

Tool steel investment castings also contain carbon, manganese, silicon, tungsten, cobalt, phosphorous, sulfur, and vanadium to create an exceptionally durable metal component.

Milwaukee Precision Casting, Inc. produces investment castings with tool steel alloys, such as A2 and D2 tool steel. With tolerance capabilities of +/-0.005″/inch and in-house secondary machining. If your part requires secondary machining operations, we can supply your component fully annealed as low as RC 20. We also harden and temper our various grades of tool steel as high as RC 60.
