Cobalt Alloy 6 Investment Castings
Why use Cobalt Alloy 6 for Investment Castings?
Cobalt alloy 6, also known as cobalt 6B, is a corrosion resistant cobalt based chromium and tungsten alloy. Due to its chemical and physical composition, Cobalt alloy 6 investment castings can withstand harsh environments where abrasion, galling, and seizing are utilized. Cobalt based alloys can withstand high heat temperatures of over 1000°F (540°C).
Milwaukee Precision Casting, Inc. has experience pouring cobalt alloy 6 investment casting parts.
Additional Characteristics of Cobalt Alloy 6:
- Low coefficient of friction (sliding contact with other metals)
- Corrosion resistant
- High strength
- Withstand high temperatures (heat resistant)
